Human Theory 101

Everyone should take some time and get to know themselves.

What kind of a person are you?
                 Am I?
How do we identify and classify people?

Many feel we shouldn't or that it is impossible. Yet everyday you do it. You evaluate, judge, or try to recognize characteristics of the individual. Even of yourself you ask the question,

Who am I?

It is rather silly to go through life without asking questions. And while there are many negative aspects of evaluating people, "judging people"; it is more absurd not to wonder about people. It is however important what you do with the information you gather about people.

One should for instance almost never be sure of anyone simply because of a judgment you have made about them. Judgments are often wrong, or at least unsatisfactory at describing the whole. It is impossible to perfectly describe a person with words.

So leaving other people out of this.

How do you look at yourself?

Do you think about yourself, what kind of person are you?

Do you wonder if your actions are "right" or "wrong"?

Do you wonder if your thoughts are "right" or "wrong"?

I propose a method of inspection. An intro-inspection of the individual, of the self that does not rely on the material comparison method.

When evaluating yourself, you often look to other people. But its absurd to measure yourself based upon the observations of others. Simply because the things observed about others are external, materialistic, and often unrelated to their internal world.

When wondering about yourself, wondering about your thoughts, you shouldn't look to someone’s new car, or perfect smile, or fashion style. These things give you no clues with which to compare your internal world to.

As I will often say, there are two worlds, that of people, trees, animals, mountains, streams, cities, and buildings, a world that exists for all to experience. Then there is the world that exists only for you, the internal atmosphere of mind, body, heart, and soul which only you can experience.

It makes no sense to use one world to measure the other.

So how do we identify for ourselves what type of a person we are?

We have to question ourselves.

I feel that it is not what you do, have, buy, eat, or wear that makes you, you.

It is what you think.

One day when the material world is gone, and your infinite mind remains, if you have spent your time making yourself up out of these material things, then you will be very boring when they are gone and you remain as a purely thinking being. (See universe theory 101 and 102 for clarification on infinite minds vs. finite materials).

So what you think truly makes up who you are.

So what do you think?

Of course you could take survey's that tell you what you think. But I believe we all feel, while they are entertaining, they are not accurate of reliable.

The only way to find out what kind of person you are is to ask yourself.

But this is extremely difficult.

The hardest part about getting the right answer is asking the right question.

For instance, "what do you think about abortion?"

The answer to this question gives yourself a clue as to what kind of a person you are.

But it is one question and it is a very messy one.

Therefore the best bet is to ask lots of questions, and not to rely on just a few of them; but to gather as much data as possible about yourself.

With every thought you have, ask yourself the question?

Is that really what I think?

When you see a man getting angry over a softball game, ask yourself "Do I really think that man is right?" "And if I do think that, is he really right? Or do I just think that?"

I think it is important for everyone in the world to realize, that you can think something is right, and it can be wrong. That you can think something is wrong and it can be right.

You can think anything, remember that your mind is a thinking machine, that’s its number one job. It can think anything (see universe theory 101 and 102, for clarification on the power of thought from an infinite mind)

So when asking yourself these questions you must maintain awareness. An awareness that the answers to the questions might not be right, that they are not ultimate truths.

That just because you think so does not make it so.

But there is another awareness one must maintain.

Immediate thoughts.

When you view something or hear something or see something or think something, sometimes there are immediate thoughts that occur.

Depending on what kind of person you are, the way your brain and memories are wired up.

Immediate thoughts occur.

For instance if you hate the New York Yankees, when you see a picture of Derek Jeter you immediately think "Ugh asshole" and perhaps you feel disdain or annoyance.

There are also immediate feelings.

These immediate thoughts and immediate feelings are what actually determine what kind of a person you are.

If you are a judgmental person, your immediate thoughts are critical and perhaps negative. If you are a positive person, your immediate thoughts are of the highlights of the "half full glass" perspective.

What sort of immediate thoughts and feelings do you have?

Are you aware of the little thoughts that just pop into your head when you see something?

Are you aware of your feelings, the ones that spring up in response to stimuli?

These immediate feelings and thoughts give very good clues as to what type of person you are.

If violent thoughts pop into your head, you are probably a violent person. If depressing thoughts pop into your head, you are probably depressed.

What sort of thoughts do you want to pop into your head?

Intelligent, pleasant, meaningful, insightful, creative thoughts?

Do you want to be an intelligent pleasant, meaningful, insightful and creative person?

Do you know what you want?

If you currently are a depressed or violent agressive person, can you become and pleasant and calm human?

Now of course you know that, you can change the type of person you are.

Your brain is not a hardwired computer.
The greatest human ability is change.

So a good question to ask yourself is, Am I the type of person I want to be?

Stubborn people are probably apt to say, of course I am, I don't want to change, things work out for me, there’s no reason to change.

But are you sure? Are you positive you shouldn't change? Just because you think you don't need to change, does it mean it is correct?

We have talked already about this.

The correct answer is always, maybe.

Maybe I should change. Maybe not.

But change is possible.

Being stubborn is an error in philosophy. Thinking that you are right, simply because you have thought so, is unjustifiable and unreasonable, its irrational and a sin for the thinking person.

So what immediate thoughts do you have?
Which are you aware of?

What immediate feelings do you have?
Which are you aware of?

Perhaps you should be more aware of your own thoughts and feelings?

If you are not aware of them, how can you expect other people to be?

Do you hold grudges?

Are you aware that you are mad?

Why are you mad?

Do you ask yourself this question?

Do you know what you want?

Do you want other people to tell you what you want?

That is unreasonable.

Do you look at an object and say:

"What is its purpose?"

"Where did it come from?"

"Why is it here?"

Or do you say:

"It’s pretty"

"It’s unimportant"

Do you think about the things you see, or do you pass through the world without thinking?

I’m not saying you should think about every little thing.

But is it a possibility that you do not think about yourself, your environment, your desires, your emotions enough?

Is it a possibility that you do not even realize you are stubborn?

I don’t want to give advice, I’m sure everyone already knows this. I don't want to insult anyone and make them feel stupid. These are simple little things. I’m sure everyone is a very good thinker.

I’m sure everyone is already doing these things. Perhaps I just "feel" that they don't and that’s why I am writing this.

I am only writing this for myself after all. But I think it might have a good idea or two.

But as we know "feeling something" doesn't mean its right at all. Everyone in the world might be really good thinkers and question askers.

I hope so!
