| Hypothetical Intelligence,
It’s the key ability of the human mind which saves us from our fate as Walking Contradictions.
Well?
Well. As demonstrated the human being is a walking contradiction.
We exist because we create things that don’t exist (thoughts).
We are unjustified creatures!
How can we go about like this?
We are creatures that desire reasons!
We need to know “Why?”
But in understanding that we are Walking Contradictions
we find that there are no “Why’s”.
Only the ones we make up for ourselves, ones that don’t really exist.
The only “Why’s” that we have are in our systems.
In our laws and physics and our morality.
But these systems are our own creations,
And they don’t really exist.
So what?
Are we stuck?
Are we messes?
No!
Human beings we have our human minds!
And our minds are the best part about us!
We know our minds exist. (See walking contradictions,-Descartes)
And within our mind there is an important functionality!
Hypothetical Intelligence!
What is that?
Hypothetical Intelligence is the intelligence that is used by
The human mind!
What?
Well if you think about it.
The type of intelligence a human has,
Is probably much different from say
That of a squirrel.
Squirrels, don’t need reasons.
They need nuts!
They need tree houses!
And safety from getting splodded by a tire!
But us humans.
We need reasons.
Unless we live like squirrels.
Lucky for us. We have a different “Intelligence” then squirrels.
But what do I mean by an intelligence?
Think of intelligence as like
How your mind gets information and
What it does with it.
For instance, we could say that squirrels have a
Static Intelligence.
Where they get information from their senses
If their brain tells them its useful, then they act on it
Or remember it.
If its not useful then they don’t even think about it.
But us humans, we get information from places,
Besides our senses.
That’s because we send ideas around.
We create ideas. We send them around.
In books, films, songs, writings, paintings, etc.
Our brains are much more Dynamic!
We have a Dynamic Intelligence.
Our ideas are combustible.
Squirrels don’t send ideas around,
Well maybe not as much as us.
So their intelligence is much less
Dynamic and much more Static.

Ok So we have a Dynamic Intelligence.
And not only is it very dynamic,
With information coming from
Multiple sources.
But it is also hypothetical.
Human beings have learned that the ideas
That we pick up.
From books and films
From talking to people.
Those ideas aren’t always real.
They are made up.
They don’t even exist.
All of the Squirrels information is real
It does exist.
It comes from the real world.
And is picked up by their senses.
But our information isn’t always real
And comes from lots of sources.
So the brain does something very special.
Something unique.
It puts it in the “Maybe Pile”
Haha.
The brain operates hypothetically.
It says. I will suppose that this information
Could be real. And we’ll see where that gets us.
The brain says, I am a good pretender
So I Will pretend that this information
These ideas, I will pretend that
They could exist, that they could
Be real.
How does the brain pretend?
Probably a couple of ways.
First by “believing”.
We know that believing is only saying
I think that exists.
Well the brain uses a different kind
Where it says,
I am pretending
That I believe this.
I am pretending to think
That this exists.
And where does that get me?
The brain takes its ideas.
Like let’s say, about right and wrong.
And it says ok.
I will pretend that right and wrong might exist.
Where does that get me?
The brain sees that
When you believe in right
And wrong, it starts
Giving you some reasons
And some justifications.
It gives you “clues”
Into the world.
Like when the brain has
To make a decision
And that morality kicks in
And says
This!
This is the right answer!
The brain says,
Oh ok,
Thanks!
And the brain is a learner.
It sees what happens when
It believes in things
And it says
Did this work?
It kinda did.
Yeah, I will be more likely
To pretend I believe this
In the future.
Because it worked in the past
Pretty good.
But the brain doesn’t tell you
It’s only pretending.
And if you don’t think about it
And don’t realize that you’re
Only pretending,
You start thinking that you
Really do believe in it!
That it really does exist!
But it doesn’t!
We already looked into this!
Just because the systems we make
Can help us make decisions
And help give us “reasons”
Doesn’t mean they are real!
We invented the systems!
And sent them around as ideas
And started pretending to believe
In them!
So don’t forget that our brain
Is a pretender!
It operates hypothetically!
That’s why we love stories!
That’s why we like movies
And books and films.
We know they are not real.
But we pretend for a moment they are!
So that we can get stuff out of them!
Get ideas, get emotions!
Our brain is a pretender!
It takes everything and operates on it
Hypothetically!
Let’s say for instance that there’s a world
Where California broke off from America
And all the people were isolated.
And the island became a garden of Eden.
Where all the hippy West coast
Brains turned it into
A wonderful peaceful place to live
And they pushed all their cars into the ocean.
See none of that happened!
But your brain!
It was like
Ok I could see that happening!
I could hypothetically imagine that!
Brains are imagining creatures!
Pretenders!
You are using your hypothetical intelligence all the time!
Even to try and understand what I am saying.
Every time you think! You are being hypothetical!
It’s astounding!
Well that is of course unless you stop thinking.
Unless you live like an animal.
Like a plant
Or a Microbe.
Unless you just take everything that comes to you
And you believe it right away.
And either act on it or ignore it.
I have a feeling some people might be doing that.
And I don’t like that.
It scares me.
Because they are not paying attention!
Pay Attention People!
Wake Up!
Now when I talk about plants
And microbes acting like that
I am not positive.
They might think just like me and you
There’s not a lot of good reasons
To suspect that they don’t
But it kinda seems that they don’t.
But ok world!
Waking up is fun!
Remember you are pretending to believe.
Your brain is a pretender.
